And what better way to celebrate than to release a track that is piano centric. This one is called The Journey. Some of you have already heard and downloaded it. It was originally released back in January of this year to paid subscribers. I wanted to re-release it today so you can maybe find some time today to sit down and enjoy this one.
I originally first wrote the first 15 seconds of this while I was visiting Nashville last year.
While I was there, I got on Instagram and saw that there was a social media campaign with Spitfire Audio called Composer. I had less than a few hours to come up with a 15 sec clip and post it. This seems to happen to me often, where I end up having little time to come up with something and release it. I just so happened to have my Keystation Mini 32 with me and a few sounds loaded on my laptop and I went to town.
The other part of the assignment was to write in brief what it means to be a Composer.
And this is what I wrote:
What it means to be a #composer … to feel, to listen closely, to communicate. To draw inspiration from experiences, good and bad, to explore and get lost, and to discover… And then to do it all over again.
I tracked more piano on it a few months ago. What you are hearing is more improvisation than anything. Spontaneously writing. Not thinking through it too much. I just wanted my fingers to just go. And this is what I came up with.
