For the last month I’ve been in search of Texas Wildflowers and learning how to bake sourdough bread. This season of wildflowers has not proven fruitful. BUT I am getting the hang of sourdough bread baking. And no I don’t nurse my starter like some have suggested. I might do a video on it because its amazing how one feeding can do the trick. (maybe more on that later)
Back to the wildflowers…
There’s so much that goes into seeing an array of fields of bluebonnets and all the other flowers that pop up in Texas. These next (4) images was from 2022 Spring season.
As you can see very fruitful. Everywhere I went I would see fields and fields of bluebonnets.
There are several factors that include drought conditions, lack of adequate rainfall, and potentially the timing of planting. Drought, especially during the fall when many wildflowers germinate, can stunt their growth and reduce the number of plants available to bloom in the spring. Yet others require specific conditions, such as colder soil temperatures and sufficient moisture, for germination and blooming.
I traveled recently to Brenham Texas and stumbled on a field. To be clear, I had to drive quite a ways to see this small but vibrant field. Still worth it but back in 2022 they were everywhere!
I came back with some friends 2 weeks later and just like that, they were starting to die out. But I looked deeper to see what else I could find that was “beautiful” and saw this.
How cool was that. Sometimes we need to dig a little deeper and search for the beauty even when Its not so obvious like Texas wildflowers.
Thank you for being here and for listening to the music. It means a whole lot. Happy Spring Time to you. Be sure to go out and see all the beauty around you!
