Hello friends,
Happy end of the month!
I’m sharing a piece I wrote back in 2020 called Goodbye (Piano Version). It holds a really special place in my heart—probably the first time I knew I wanted to compose. Maybe even the first time I realized I could write to picture.
I wrote this after watching the final scene of The Half of It on Netflix. That ending wrecked me in the best way—something about it just took hold of me emotionally. I went straight to the piano, and this is what came out.
It ended up being one of the pieces I submitted for a contest… and I won.
Lately, I’ve been reworking my bio for a program I’m applying to, and it’s had me reflecting on when this all started—where the spark first caught fire. This piece brought me back there. March has been madness, and dusting this off was really good for my heart.
I hope it brings you some peace too.
