It’s a new month.
This month I’m taking a different approach to what will be released.
I decided to unlock a track from the paid side of this newsletter and release to you the entire track of Guilt. When I initially released it, I did a really short clip of it.
Today I release to you the entire 6min of the track for you to listen to.
Along with that, I wanted to share with you a small film that good friend, film editor and You-tuber Anouk did.
Last November she asked if she could use a track I wrote and released called ‘Guilt’ for a project she was working on to show the journey of a character from hit show on Netflix called Manifest.
NOTE: THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE VIDEO SO IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE SHOW SKIP THIS VIDEO!
That was a no brainer, cause like her I too love that character and in fact it was because of the show Manifest that we ended up connecting on the bird app (Twitter).
To give you a bit of background…
I started following Matt Long (the actor that plays Zeke on the hit show Manifest) back in Dec of 2019. Then Covid madness happened and turned our world upside down (March 2020). And instead of doing nothing during that lockdown I decided to learn how to compose music for TV and Film. Yeah right no biggie……
I would literally pretend I was a composing for a show. And I would ‘practice’ writing music for scenes from the show itself.
During that time in lockdown, I wrote several pieces of music. In fact a whole album, where I used several scenes of this show Manifest as my backdrop, cause at that point I didn’t have a teacher and I didn’t have scenes to practice on so I used what was in front of me. And Manifest was a show I was glued to.
Last week she asked if I had another piece of music for her to use to complete the video. And I sent her a piece of music I wrote back in 2020 specifically about the character of Zeke and Michaela (his love interest). I wanted to share the video here. It’s music I am proud of. This journey for me started in 2020 and this show has been pivotal in my growth as a composer and storyteller.
